Dawn Sewald was born and raised in Minnesota, where her passion for caregiving first took root. She spent over a decade as a full-time nanny before transitioning to a career in nursing, working in dialysis. A devoted mother to her daughter Addison (16), Dawn has balanced motherhood, career, and service with grace and purpose.

In 2013, while on a DreamMission trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Dawn met her partner of 12 years, Jeff Stewart. Inspired by Jeff’s vision of giving back while on vacation, Dawn championed the idea of formalizing it into a nonprofit. Since then, she has been the heart behind DreamMissions, leading logistics, trip planning, and on-site leadership for over a dozen service trips.

With a deep-rooted love for helping others—especially children in need—Dawn has volunteered extensively with her church and local community. She authored the Nonprofit Partnership Program, building collaborative bridges between 501(c)(3) organizations, and is also behind the foundation’s website development.

Dawn dreams of a future where giving back becomes a natural part of every vacation, and continues to pour her heart into making that vision a reality through DreamMissions.
